Spokane Real Estate Voice: How is your office morale?

How is your office morale?

I have had a few discussions lately in regard to the outstanding attitude and positive vibe that we have at my office.

These were brought on by "outsiders" and they both told me that I didn't know how fortunate I am that I am in an office where the morale is great.

Wow, I don't think I could survive if I had a downer environment. There is so much to deal with in this business, that I am glad I am surrounded with people who are encouraging, fun, positive and above all professional.

I really appriciate my office and I wanted to say so! :)

Surrounding yourself with like minded people is important. If your office is a negative environment, I suggest being the change you want to see, and talking with the management about some morale boosters. As an independent contractor, I don't have to like where I work- but I do!

Moods are definitely contagious.  I always feel better when I am around positive people!

BethAnn,

We have an absolutely positive office and it is hard to go to our board meetings sometimes and see agents who are with offices that haven't been able to keep up their spirits.

I used to have a key chain that said "Attitude is Everything," the attitude in our office has been great and we are continuing to adapt to the market and help a lot of people buy and sell homes!

I couldn't agree more.  Some toxic environments can be hazardous to your health

Hi BethAnn,

That's a beautiful office. Even though most agents are independent contractors, I can't begin to imagine why anyone would work where they're not happy. For me life's too short for that, and it's so nice to see someone who appreciates their broker.

Btw, I'm the broker-owner in my office and morale and compatibility is a huge thing for us.

BethAnn,

The technical term used in organizational behavior is contagion.  The premise being that your co-workers attitudes can bring you up or bring you down.......

BethAnn,

It's great to know that you have such positive outlook.  It sure does help when everyone is positive.  You must admit though, that it is a tough market, and those that did not adequately prepare themselves can sometime find that there is nothing to be positive about.  I sympathize with them.  This is a tough market.

In a difficult market, the morale does not need to go SIDEWAYS. That just makes things worse.

We can empathise and encourage each other and be supportive with out being drug in to stinkin' thinkin'

Hi BethAnn-

I'm glad that you are gleaning the benefits of such a positive work environment.

We are both happy and driven here at our office.  It keeps us in contracts.

Hi BethAnn.  My office also has a very positive attitude.  If they didn't, I believe I'd have to find another company to work for.
