In my neck of the woods, we have what is known as (real) winter. As in WINTER WEATHER!
Home sales do slow down, but Winter buyers are not usually lookie-loo's.
I noticed several homes in Spokane " coming off the market for the winter". I guess to each his own, but it only takes one solid buyer to sell you house!
I have never shown homes to anyone in the dead of winter who didn't buy!
As a Realtor, I recommend giving it serious thought before pulling your home off the market during winter.
Ultimatley, it's up to the seller and their motivation. The past two winters in Spokane have been grueling.
But with the new incentive for the tax credit for both first time home buyers (extended) and now for sellers who have been in their home 5 of the last eight years, it should be a VERY productive winter for all of us!

...there's no place like your home!

The market in Southern Maryland is doing very well. So, I think keep your home on the market in the winter with less competition. When spring hits their will be more to choose from.
Very good blog .. good ideas to get new listings with...
You got it ...by George...Georgia...you got it....less competition...ahhhh the holiday decorations...fireplace really warming up the room in more ways than one...sell in the spring..why wait ?
Exactly! Less listings, so less competition!
I saw your title and laughed because in our area, this is the START of our season! Let's hope all our buyers think so too!
The past wo winters we had had several FEET of snow!
I agree that the buyers in the winter are serious buyers. I tell my sellers that you might not get as many showings, but the ones you do get are serious buyers if they are looking in the winter months. I love the leader on your blog..
BethAnn, I never really thought about it before but I have to agree that the buyers in the winter are serious buyers...
