When I read the latest NAR (National Association of Realtors) Economic Research report it confirms that I am right on track with my Marketing.
Here is one section from the 4 page report:
HOW BUYER FIRST LEARNED HOME WAS AVAILABLE FOR SALE:
2008 2009
Realtor: 34% 36%
Internet 32% 36%
Yard Sign 15% 15%

Newspaper 3% 2%
HomeBook/Magazine 1% X
There were several other aspects of this report I found enlightening.
I will be using it while formulating my 2010 goals and business plan!

Thanks for the stats. I'm a bit surprised that the internet isn't higher?
Now those are very interesting numbers that I hadn't seen before. Keep up the good work!
MONIQUE: 90% of buyers used the internet to search for homes in 2009. * It is best to see the whole report.
Where did you find the report? Good information Thank you for sharing.
Lisa, our office had it prined out for us, from NAR try realtor.org
BethAnn, The data in this report tells us all how the world really works and where to direct our marketing. And not what we have been led to believe.
This also explains why major newspapers are reducing/eliminating their real estate section.
See chapters 3, 4, 6 and 7. Great stuff.
Thanks for sharing this information.
Reg, what chapter are you talking about-in what?
Sorry for the delay in responding BethAnn. Chapters 3,4, 6 and 7 in the 2009 NAR Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers.
Hope this helps.
