Spokane's South Hill is buzzing with the excitement of our brand new Trader Joes!

The store had it's grand opening on Friday October 28th and it was like sardines in there, no pun intended. The steady flow of the crowd was endless from open to close.

People came from neighboring towns just to shop and experience the excitement!

This is great for the South Hill in Spokane. They re-did the entire strip mall and its beautiful!

I must say, I was almost giddy I was so happy to have this great store just blocks from my house!

In fact, the day before it opened, I was peeking in the window and ended up being interviewed by KXLY Television and was ont he news!

WELCOME TRADER JOES!

The long awaited opening of the WEST WING OF THE WHITE HOUSE GRILL has happened! You can smell the garlic for miles!

The WEST WING is on Spokane's South Hill at 4334 S. Regal. This is such a popular place, they do not even take reservations! I must tell you...it is my husbands FAVORITE place on the planet!

Bursting with flavor and personality, the legend lives on with Raci and the rest of his groupees!

It is downright exhilarating having such a legendaey place open on Spokane's South Hill!  You can probably smell the garlic while I am typing!

On the top of what we call " The South Hill" here in Spokane lies a beautiful view rim called "High Drive".

The entire west facing ridge has been turned into miles of great dog walking, running, biking, hiking and just plain sunset watching!

Enjoy an evening stroll, or get up early and throw on your running shoes! GREAT VIEWS, Peaceful and Serene places to enjoy just another beautiful place in Spokane Wa.

Situated in the lovely Wilson Scool/Manito Park/High Drive area, The Scoop is a favorite local hang out for all ages.

LOCATED at the corner of 25th and Monroe right by Wilson Elementary.

Ferrante's Market Place and Cafe on Spokane's South Hill is truly one of my favorite South Hill Restaurants!

Not only is their food incredible, but their gift shop is great!

Specializing in Italian Food, they serve amazing salads, pasta, calzone, pizza and more!

They also have some great gelato :) !

Hamblen Park Spokane's South Hill is a small wooded park that graces the upper central south hill with beautiful pine trees, wild flowers and pathways for walking. Adjacent to Hamblen Grade school, this is a fun place to bring kids and dogs for a nice walk, picnic and then play on the toys at the school. More importantly, it is one of the many well thought out patches of natural beauty on Spokane's South Hill.

Lindaman's "Gourmet to go" is like your favorite pair of shoes. You try lots of places, and even love them for all kinds of reasons, but then you seem to go back to the pair that not only look good, but feel good too! You know, the ones that you go buy in every color?!

I like the fact that Lindaman's  has been going gangbusters since it's doors opened in 1984. I actually remember when they opened!

For years I have been enjoying great meals at Lindamans. The only problem I have there is deciding what to order!

Discover Fringe Salon and Boutique on Spokane's South Hill!

I was so excited when I walked into this new salon! The boutique is awesome!!! They have a great selection of cute clothes, accessories and gifts for great prices. Many of the clothing pieces are some of the best I  have seen in a long time.

Located at 2622 E. 29th in the heart of the South Hill, Fringe is certainly a place you need to visit for a cute outfit, or to meet the stylists! (near Rosauers)

I recently had my hair cut there- and was very happy!

Lincoln Park Spokane Wa is nestled in the middle of the South East part of Spokane's South Hill and is an amazingly gorgeous natural park!

I often walk my dogs at this park, and I never tire of the stunning beauty. There are many beautiful homes in the neighborhood. It is close to Lincoln Heights Shopping Center, yet this park is like being in the great outdoors in the center of Spokane's South Hill!

This pond has an asphalt trail all the way around it. Just try and keep your bird dogs out of this!

There are dozens of stunning rock formations at Lincoln Park on Spokane's South Hill!

This is indeed a beautiful neighborhood to live and play in!

South Hill Neighborhoods in Spokane Wa. offer a variety of homes for sale of many different styles and prices.

The south hill of Spokane Wa. is the place I call home. There are many other wonderful places to live in Spokane Wa. but I am going to do a 7 part series of what we refer to as "The South Hill".

Spokane Wa was developed with the Spokane River as the center. In the early days of the south hill, mainly large homes were built just south of the river.

The two dividing points of Spokane Wa. are DIVISION ST. which runs north and south, and SPRAUGE AVE. which runs East and West.

For our purposes, we will be concentrating on areas south of 3rd avenue, east of Maple, and West of Freya.

The farthest south that the city lies is 57th ave. However, I would like to spend one post talking about the beautiful Palouse area which lies south of 57th and is in the county rather than the city.

As I discuss these various South Hill neighborhoods in Spokane Wa. I will highlight some of the things I enjoy about each one.
